Foundation Staff

After serving 38 years as Executive Director of the J. Bulow Campbell Foundation, John W. Stephenson retired on July 31, 2023.  Reflecting on his time at the Campbell Foundation, John offered “As careers go, it’s hard to imagine one more interesting and rewarding than bringing a donor’s hopes together with organizations that can meet our community’s steepest challenges and most exciting opportunities.  The Campbell Foundation could not have been a better place to do just that, and I’m very grateful.”  

The Campbell Foundation’s board chairman reflected on John’s long and distinguished tenure.  “The trustees join me in expressing heartfelt appreciation to John for his nearly four decades of faithful service to the J. Bulow Campbell Foundation and countless other philanthropic endeavors, all benefiting the community.  We will miss his wise and steady leadership as well as his gentle presence, his professional skill, and his good humor.”
